Scandals from PiS Era May Not Be Quickly Resolved. No One May Be Convicted During Tusk’s Term
It may take up to 10 years for final verdicts on PiS politicians and their associates. Prime Minister Donald Tusk will not be able to boast about resolving the scandals by the end of his term because there are bottlenecks and traps in the prosecution and courts left by Ziobro’s “reforms.”
Duda: Legal chaos threatens Poland

The National Public Prosecutor’s Office is prosecuting seven judges for taking decisions which favour an oppressed prosecutor
The special internal department of the National Prosecutor’s Office has called for a special investigation into seven judges from Cracow. All of them issued judgments concerning the prosecutor Mariusz Krasoń, who has been persecuted for displaying independence. This is a case of clear interference in the judges’ work, and of putting pressure on one of them.
The Disciplinary Chamber goes to task on judges Morawiec and Tuleya
The Disciplinary Chamber will decide at the beginning of October whether the National Prosecutor’s Office will be able to press far-fetched criminal charges against judges who are known for defending the free courts. Judges and lawyers from all over Poland are supporting Igor Tuleya and Beata Morawiec.
Prosecutor Bogdan Święczkowski attacks Małgorzata Gersdorf, head of the Supreme Court
The National Prosecutor Bogdan Święczkowski, one of the Minister of Justice/ the Prosecutor General Zbigniew Ziobro’s closest associates, has demanded clarification from the First President of the Supreme Court, Małgorzata Gersdorf. He wants to know why she suspended the Disciplinary Chamber’s power of adjudication. Święczkowski’s letter sets a dangerous and unprecedented precedent that can be seen as an attempt at intimidation or to bring criminal charges.
Kaczyński above the law. The delicate work of keeping him away from questioning and out of court
The public prosecutor’s office has refused to initiate an investigation into the fraud allegedly perpetrated by Kaczynski against Birgfellner. The prosecutor took 259 days, although it should have been 30 by law, questioning the businessman over and over again, and slapping fines on him. What took so long? Because on 5 October, regulations making it possible to seek justice were changed, and on 13 October elections were held.
