The new chamber of the Supreme Court acknowledged that Judge Ferek from Kraków could not be suspended for judgments in which he applied European law. The decision was made in an atmosphere of scandal, by a defective bench. Now the PiS government can say that it has fulfilled one of the conditions for unblocking funds for the NRRP. The judge could have adjudicated on several hundred cases during his period of suspension

The illegal and politicised neo-NCJ turns itself into a lynch mob and turns citizens against Judge Maciej Ferek from Kraków. It publishes protected court surveillance footage in conflict with the law and breaches the secrecy of correspondence in order to discredit the judge.

Judge Piotr Gąciarek’s suspension may be lifted in a few days and he may return to work in the capital’s court. This may be the decision of the new Supreme Court chamber. If Gąciarek returns to adjudication, only Judge Maciej Ferek from Krakow will still be suspended.

The President has given high promotions to judges associated with Minister Ziobro, members of the illegal NCJ and the partner of the head of the neo-NCJ. At the same time, independent judges are experiencing further repressions. This shows how the President and the PiS authorities will implement the compromise with the EU in practice.

The Kraków judges have an uphill struggle. A special department has been formed. According to the president of the Regional Court – not against them. They, however, are of a different opinion.
